Combining herbs and Reiki to balance the chakras

Reiki goes to work, aligning the chakra system and when we combine the extracts of certain essential oils an harmonious success is achieved.

The essential oils or herbs play a major role in enhancing the vibrational pattern and influencing our chakras along with one’s aura.

There are 7 energy centers or chakras in the body that help to align us and keep our body, mind and spirit balanced.

When our chakras are  imbalanced we become susceptible to spiritual, mental, emotional and physical dis-eases and this where some energy work and herbs come in handy.

Herbs have been used for healing for centuries and they carry a powerful vibration that connects us to the earth and our vital energy.

Stimulate or healing your charkas with herbs is particularly beneficial, as they touch us on a physical and energetic level – clearing out psychic debris and increasing detoxification and oxygen pathways.

The Seventh Chakra – Crown Chakra

The Crown chakra is situated on the top of the crown or head area. This chakra is represented by the colours white or violet Sahasara mandala and is symbolised by sacred spirits.

Chakra SystemThe Crown chakra links us to our highest guidance, creation and is the foundation of our spiritual body. Spiritual will, idealism, inspiration and celestial knowledge are influenced by this chakra, as it is our connection to the universe.

The Crown chakra physically influences the cerebrum, cerebral cortex, central nervous system, the pituitary gland, pineal gland and all the hormones related to them.

A balanced Crown chakra releases us from ego driven desires, we know that we are guided and we trust in our highest guidance. Once the crown chakra is open you’ll feel a small amount of pressure, tugging or at the crown of your head. This chakra’s balance is affected by the balance of the previous six Chakras.

When a Crown chakra is blocked we are still guided but this is more ego driven guidance. One will feel uncertainty, have little self-confidence and will experience anxiety and fear. This will in turn create negative influences in the physical in the form of misunderstandings, forgetfulness, apathy, immune disorders, and headaches, cognitive and mental problems.

Balancing and unblocking the chakras helps to realign the Crown chakra – meditation on a continual basis is a great way to balance this chakra. Spend plenty of time connecting with your higher self, inner self, spirit guides and the source. Ask for guidance with regards to your needs and concerns and when you least expect, the answers will come to you.

A daily meditation – remaining connected to your higher self or source.

Cardiovascular exercise, such as aerobics or running

The Sixth Chakra – Brow or Third Eye Chakra

The sixth chakra is situated on the forehead, just between the eyebrows. This chakra is represented by the indigo Ajna mandala (command centre), the element of the light, electricity and mind and is symbolised by spirit.

Chakra systemThe third eye chakra influences ones capacity to see things that have not yet taken place or clairvoyance as this is the foundation of our psychic powers.

The chakra physically influences vision, the eyes, nose, brain, central nervous system and pituitary gland.

A balanced third eye chakra enables one to be able to read auras and to see their spirit guides, who assist with healing the past and the ability to see into the future. It enables us to use our imagination, intuition, visualisation, insight, concentration, awareness and enlightenment – at the same time defining fantasy from reality.

  • When in balance one will feel more in control of their lives and will courageously pursue their goals. They will have confidence in their own abilities and will have no need for others to make them feel whole.

An imbalanced chakra will create negative influences on the physical level, which manifest in the form of sinus and visual problems, nightmares and headaches. This in turn may lead to over analysing situations and a lack of clarity.

Too much energy flow can cause headaches, a lack of concentration, confusion, spiritual fatigue, panic attacks, psychological problems and depression.

Too little energy flow can cause one to be unassertive, disorderly, frightened of achieving, far too empathetic and unaware of what comes from ones highest guidance.

Balancing and unblocking the third eye chakra can be achieved by lying flat on your back and placing a crystal (lapis lazuli, which is my favourite) above the third eye, then visualise a flame or indigo light whilst meditating.

The Fifth Chakra – The Throat Chakra

The fifth chakra is situated at the base of the neck in the throat. This chakra is represented by the blue Vishuddha mandala (purity), the element of ether and symbolised by the human race.

Chakra systemThe throat chakra influences dreaming, communication, artistic expression, self-belief, good judgment, wisdom, out of body experiences, clairaudience and truthfulness.

The chakra physically influences the thyroid gland, throat, teeth, mouth and the immune system.

If the throat chakra is in balance, it allows us to express our truth, which in turn helps us to feel happy and centred. You can also use the throat chakra while you are meditating to connect with your higher guidance (self).

Too little flow influences the physical in the forms of communication problems, sore throats, earaches or infections, thyroid problems, chronic colds, speech difficulties, depression and chronic tiredness, which can also lead to the control of others through dishonesty and deceit. If the flow is too great it can make you dominating, inflexible, egotistical, have a self-righteous and a big-headed attitude.

A blocked throat chakra can cause you to be nervous and scared causing introspection, where you tend to keep your thoughts to yourself and opposing any sort of change. Balance this chakra by singing, listening to good music, chanting, looking at the sky, going for walks, watching your breath and daily meditations outside.

The shoulder Stand is a good yoga pose for healing this area.

Sing and chant daily.
